I'm Jake Sorensen, former Army infantry officer turned fitness instructor who spent years eating MREs and mess hall food before deciding that high-protein meals could actually taste like something worth sitting down for. After leaving the military, I became a certified strength and conditioning coach in Portland and started developing recipes for clients who needed serious protein without the bland bodybuilder aesthetic. Every Protein Workshop recipe reflects my philosophy: function first, flavor mandatory, and no excuses about not having time - if I could meal prep in a barracks kitchen, you can handle a Tuesday night.
